Laura Batchelor

Head of Alliance Management

Laura has over 15 years of clinical research experience spanning operations, alliance management, commercial strategy, and business operations. She is responsible for building alliances and strategic partnerships with sponsor companies and clinical development service providers. She was most recently Head of Alliance Management at Abingworth where she worked with the transatlantic investment team to source and evaluate new clinical co-development (CCD) investment opportunities. Prior to Abingworth, she was Head of Partnership Excellence at PPD responsible for leading a team that established best-in-class partnership processes and systems ensuring effective governance and customer satisfaction. In addition, Laura served as Chief of Staff at Worldwide Clinical Trials leading the implementation of strategic corporate initiatives and served as a member of the corporate Process Improvement Council. Earlier in her career, Laura served as the Portfolio and Operations Management Head of a large, global business unit at INC Research (now Syneos Health) with over 500 dedicated staff to a single strategic, cross-functional alliance. Laura earned her B.S. in Biology from Meredith College, B.S. in Clinical Research from Campbell University, and M.S. in Clinical Research and Product Development from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.
