Sam Tang

Principal, Carlyle

Samuel Tang is a Principal on the U.S. Buyout team focused on private equity investments in the healthcare sector and is based in New York. Since joining Carlyle in 2015, he has been actively involved in Carlyle’s investments in CorroHealth, Genetix Biotherapeutics (fka bluebird bio), Ortho Clinical Diagnostics, Tarrytown Expocare Pharmacy, and Unchained Labs. He is also involved in Carlyle’s broader life sciences efforts, including the acquisition of Abingworth. Prior to Carlyle, he worked in the healthcare investment group at J.P. Morgan.

Mr. Tang received an M.B.A. from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, a J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School, and an A.B. summa cum laude from Princeton University.
